21Shares Grabs State Street Exec – Crypto News

  • NFT-based protocol hires ex-employees from Google, Facebook and Instagram
  • The Association for Digital Asset Markets appoints a new leader for its National Security Working Group

ETP issuer 21 shares rented Karl Hagerup to lead the company’s presence in Scandinavia and the Netherlands.

Hagerup joins 21Shares from State Street Global Advisors, where he began working for the wealth manager’s SPDR ETF business in July 2018. He has been responsible for institutional and large clients across the Nordic region including wealth managers, pension funds, insurance companies, hedge funds and more family offices.

The executive was previously Head of Nordics at Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) and also held sales roles in the region for the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) and Bloomberg.

That Association for Digital Asset Markets (ADAM) appointed Mike Castiglione as chairman of the new National Security Working Group.

ADAM created the unit to bridge the public and private sectors, acting as a resource for the executive and legislature to discuss blockchain national security issues with industry experts.

Castiglione is the Director of Regulatory Affairs for digital assets at Eventus, a provider of trade surveillance and market risk solutions across multiple asset classes, and a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) official.

NFT based protocol Unlock rented Patrick Workman as vice president of business development and partnerships.

Workman will look to expand collaborations with media channels, content creators and crypto natives to help transform online business models for creators.

He was previously part of Google’s partnerships team and has also worked at Facebook, Instagram, Experian and Pinterest.

Trey Zeluff is now Director of Strategy and Innovation at LevelField Financiala company that offers digital assets and traditional banking services on one platform.

He joins from Fertitta Entertainment, where he drove digital asset strategy and helped broker relationships with the Houston Rockets, Golden Nugget and luxury brands.

Zeluff is tasked with building partnerships in the crypto community and will seek opportunities with “next generation customers” for trading companies in the digital assets space.

Hansong Zhanga former chief scientist at Pokemon GO creator Niantic, has joined the blockchain technology provider AnChain.AI as an investor while Rex NgPresident and co-founder of mobile game publisher 6waves, is now an advisor to the company.

Zhang and Ng aim to help AnChain.AI bring Web3 innovations to the masses, including the upcoming launch of the Tenzing Web3 NFT platform. The company reported around 400% revenue growth in Web3 activation in the first quarter.

Subsidiary of BIGG Digital Assets netcoinswhich develops brokerage and exchange software for buying crypto, called Fraser Matthews as President with effect from 7.

Matthews joins Netcoins from Banque Saudi Fransi (BSF) where he was their Digital Strategy Lead. In this role, he led the company’s Digital Ventures unit, which introduced strategic initiatives such as Bank as a Service, Open Banking and Challenger Banking.

Canadian-Swiss company Spirit blockchain capital revealed the recent settings of GavinNathan as head of fundraising Bernd Berg as portfolio manager.

Berg has held similar roles at banks Credit Suisse, Société Générale, Bank J. SafraSarasin and Woodman Asset Management. At Spirit, he will manage treasury investments in equities and crypto assets, and lead the firm’s research and advisory practice.

Nathan began his career in the global security and intelligence segment for the UK government. He was appointed last August to lead global business development and fundraising for Canam Private Equity

In case you missed it, the Global X fund group has poached an executive from Swiss-based ETP issuer 21Shares to lead the digital asset product.

Prior to 21Shares, Sze spent 12 years in senior product team positions at New York Life Investment Management, covering traditional and alternative investments.

Company CoinShares XBT provider named Jean Charles Dudek as managing director after the departure of Dennis Engström.

Dudek has 16 years of experience in derivatives, fund structuring and alternative portfolio management. He co-founded the first quantitative crypto focused asset manager in France with an AIFM license.

The Sweden-based XBT provider is the issuer of the Bitcoin Tracker One, which became the first Bitcoin-related security available on a regulated exchange when it was listed on Nasdaq Stockholm in 2015.
