Decentraland Silvesterbash to recreate One Times Square, Paris Hilton as a DJ in Roblox – Metaverse – Crypto News

There’s a New Years Eve fiesta called Metafest 2022 Global Party at Metaversum, hosted by real estate firm Jamestown and crypto-investment firm Digital Currency Group (DCG) in Decentraland. According to the announcement, the owner of One Times Square, Jamestown, will rebuild the iconic site in Decentraland for the 2022 Ball Drop.

New Year’s Eve hits the metaverse

The New Year’s Eve ball drop celebration is held at Decentraland-Metaverse and is hosted by real estate firm Jamestown and the Digital Currency Group (DCG). According to the announcement, DCG is one of the largest landowners in Decentraland, while Jamestown owns the famous One Times Square. DCG real estate manager Simon Koster explains how the digital world can merge with the real one.

“The Metaverse is rapidly evolving to bring together the most interesting and seductive parts of our favorite physical locations around the world,” noted Koster during the announcement. “From travel destinations to gaming, education, retail and more, we can expect the Metaverse to revolutionize our current online experience.” The DCG Board of Directors added:

This event shows how virtual events can be combined with real ones to provide unique experiences for so many who otherwise would never have been able to attend.

Virtual One Times Square with entertainment acts, VIP lounges on the roof and live feeds from NYC

Michael Phillips, President of Jamestown, agrees, believing that the future of real estate is “the thoughtful integration of the virtual and physical worlds, optimized for the user experience.” According to the announcement, the virtual One Times Square will be located in Decentraland in sections -106, -119. Music and entertainment acts including “roof VIP lounges” will be offered at the party.

There will also be live feeds of the real Times Square Ball Drop celebration in New York. “The Metaverse is an important part of real estate and the built environment development,” added Phillips. “While physical real estate is largely limited to people in geographic proximity, the Metaverse can provide meaningful access to places for people around the world through immersive virtual experiences.” Phillips continued:

The restoration of One Times Square in the Decentraland metaverse is part of a broader digital assets strategy to develop and improve our physical properties for the Web 3.0 and to open new avenues for our assets to exist in multiple metaverses in the future.

Socialite Paris Hilton is putting on an electronic music set at the Roblox Metaverse on New Year’s Eve

DCG, Decentraland, and Jamestown aren’t the only ones throwing a New Years Eve party. Paris Hilton is plan to play an electronic music set for NYE on their virtual Roblox island called “Paris World”.

“To me, the Metaverse is a place where you can do anything that you can do in real life in the digital world,” said Hilton in a statement. The celebrity and entrepreneur added:

Not everyone can experience this, so we worked on it together over the past year – giving them all of my inspiration for what I want in this world.
