Italian sports car manufacturer Ferrari signs multi-year contract with blockchain company Velas Network AG – Blockchain

The Italian luxury sports car maker, headquartered in Maranello, Italy, has announced that it is partnering with Velas Network AG, a company specializing in blockchain and non-fungible token (NFT) technology.

December 27th Ferrari The well-known luxury sports car manufacturer, founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1939, announced that the company is entering the world of creating “exclusive digital content”. The Scuderia Ferrari racing department announced that the Italian automobile manufacturer has entered into a long-term partnership with Velas Network AG. The company says Velas will help empower digital content for Scuderia fans, and the announcement explains that Velas will also be a title sponsor for the Ferrari Esports Series.

The web portal of the Velas network indicates that Velas is a Solana (SOL) fork with integrated EVM integration and the network launched in 2019. “We have the fastest EVN chain to compete with Ethereum 2.0,” claims the website. The company is based in Switzerland and Ferrari states in the announcement that Velas is a “global player in the blockchain and NFT sector”. Ferrari’s announcement includes further details that Velas will work well with the Maranello team.

While Ferrari’s partnership with Velas mentions no NFT promotions or blockchain concepts on the horizon, the company does disclose sponsorship of the Ferrari Esports Series. Ferrari is following a number of automakers and brands in the racing division that have stepped into the blockchain space. In mid-June, the German car maker has Porsche entered that NFT industry and the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team at the end of September signed a long-term contract with FTX.

Mattia Binotto, General Manager and Team Principal of Scuderia Ferrari, said on Monday that the company was delighted to be working with Velas Network AG. “[Velas is] a company that makes innovation and performance the hallmark of technologically advanced products and services: these are all values ​​that unite us and that have led us to choose Velas as one of our premium partners, ”said Binotto in a statement.

Scuderia Ferrari also follows this Motor Team McLaren‘s NFT project and the Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum NFTs. Velas Network AG’s co-founder and CEO Farhad Shagulyamov considers his company and Ferrari to be natural partners. Shagulyamov’s leadership as Velas’ CEO was easy announced four days ago after “long and fruitful debates”.

“After developing a next-generation blockchain that emphasizes both sustainability and performance, it was natural to partner with Ferrari, another icon of excellence,” said Shagulyamov of the partnership with the Italian luxury sports car maker. “Velas has introduced an innovative variety of groundbreaking technologies into the blockchain and related products that are now being presented at the premier class of motorsport,” concluded the Velas manager.
