Heavy Metal’s Prince of Darkness brings out Cryptobatz NFT Collection
After the onslaught of celebrities getting into non-fungible tokens (NFTs), Ozzy Osbourne is getting involved in the fray with his upcoming “Cryptobatz” collection, according to a Rolling Stone article published December 27th. Osbourne also informed the masses through his Twitter account and urged his followers to follow the official Cryptobatz Twitter account. In the usual style of the Prince of Darkness, he tweeted:
I’m starting a fucking NFT project. 9,666 unique bats really designed by you … go and follow @ Cryptobatznft …
According to Rolling Stone writer Nick Reilly, the NFTs are a nod to the time when Osbourne bit off a bat’s head on the stage in 1982. The rock and roll singer too told his Twitter fans to join the Cryptobatz NFT Discord server to get on the pre-sale whitelist. However, not everyone was happy with the Prince of Darkness’s decision to coin NFTs.
“I beg you to look at the environmental damage that NFTs and crypto are causing on the planet,” one person replied to Osbourne on Twitter. “Because you were someone who claims to care about global warming and the destruction of the earth,” the person said added.
Cryptobatz NFT Discord Channel attracts thousands of members, NFTs can transform into “Mutantbatz”
The official Cryptobatz NFT Twitter account stated that the Discord server reached 11,000 members in less than 24 hours. “The community we’re building is amazing [and] To celebrate, we’re raffling off 100 pre-sale coin minting slots, ”the Twitter account said on Tuesday afternoon. The project also has a website cryptobatz.com who presented the creators of the project, the roadmap and “Mutantbatz”.
Osbourne’s Cryptobatz NFT web portal shows that the NFTs offer something akin to the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) ability to transform into mutant monkeys. Cryptobatz can transform into Mutantbatz, which means that owners receive a special NFT in addition to the original after it has been “bitten”. There is also “Ancientbatz” which gives Cryptobatz owners the exclusive opportunity to access a “life changing treasure hunt”.
“I’ve been trying to take part in the NFT campaign for some time. When I asked Sharon for a Bored Ape for Christmas after several failed attempts to buy my own, she said no, so I decided to create my own. ”Osbourne statement in Rolling Stone article notes. The animated rock star added:
Cryptobatz is a f *** ing mental project for NFT collectors and fans. The design pays homage to one of my most iconic moments on stage and offers a chance to acquire a rare piece of art history. I love it.
