I came to Sandbox Alpha because of the musical experiences of Snoop Dogg and Deadmau5. It was great to dance with my voxeled avatar: green hair, pink sports bra, denim shorts, yellow stockings and red shoes. All with the insane creatures dancing around me and the feeling of indulging in a real concert with flashing lights and pounding beats. I figured I could just stay with the show for the rest of the alpha until I saw the countdown to the reveal plan and realized I had to get out of there and complete the quests. I had to be able to claim the alpha assets by the end of it. The price NTFs called me.
introduction: The sandpit is a decentralized, community-driven gaming ecosystem where designers and artists can create, share, and monetize NFTs and gaming experiences on the blockchain, and works with many industry giants. His popular virtual properties, known as LANDs, are taking over the NFT world.
The Sandbox Alpha, model house for Metaverse creators
What is Sandbox Alpha? What would I experience there?
the Sandpit is a popular Metaverse game using the GameFi asset ownership mechanism. GameFi stands for “financing video games”. Simply put, this allows gamblers to make real financial gains or losses in the realm of the game itself.
In a regular, non-metaverse video game, you pay for the game (one-time purchase, monthly / annual subscription or the “freemium” model of many other in-game purchases) and become a customer. While in a Metaverse game, players can actually become owners of game assets by either creating assets and later listing them for sale, or by buying and acquiring pre-built assets to own.
in the Sandbox Alphaas I go through the various quests I see Land, and I see NFTs hanging for sale in almost every corner with direct links to OpenSea, and lots of other bespoke gear and supplies that real cryptocurrency players can buy. Selling and owning land in Sandbox is the most important possession in the game.
Therefore, when you explore the various quests and go through the game’s extremely diverse landscapes, it feels like going to a metaverse real estate company to see their show homes. It helps me understand how the country can be developed, decorated and made attractive. My mind raced with brilliant visions of what else could be done on these empty lots to make them unique and appealing.
I really enjoyed the gaming experience. Since the main purpose of Sandbox Alpha is to bring Alpha Pass holders, landowners, and creators closer to the great potential of this metaverse, all Alpha Quests are designed to be exploratory, adventurous, and easy to complete. For my chic avatar, it’s basically a lot of running, hiking, climbing and jumping in different landscapes. The search is mainly about moving around in the landscape in order to reach certain points (signposts), to become familiar with the surroundings and to appreciate the design details.
When I entered an area there were two NFT characters I could speak to to get my mission going. The Metaverse Guide with a blue exclamation mark above his wise head and two blue crystal balls in each of his hands was the right NFT to give me the alpha quest.
The quest usually consists of four or five iconic locations that I have to reach. The other NFT character is a random character in the story, like a scientist or a warrior, with a yellow exclamation mark on his head. His quest will likely lead you to gather some rare resources and get into some sword fights. But even in this Metaverse game, there is no real death to your character. If a wolf bites you to death or you fall into the greenish acid pool, you will lose your life bar and spawn at the starting point to start over. Never give up!
What’s even more great is that if you fall from high places you won’t get killed. That is why I have chosen many scenic and high-altitude places to make a “leap of faith”. The only downside is that I later had to find a way to climb back up and complete the rest of my quests. My character can also stay underwater for two hours without breathing. I also leave them standing on the flowing volcanic rock lava.
After six hours of playing, I went to the Snoop Dogg concert in the basement of the NFT Institute. I took selfies at the Deadmau5 concert at AlphaHub, I danced in Club XYZ, I climbed and fell endlessly on the post-apocalyptic Edge of the Abyss, I slaughtered wolves in the dungeon of Dum-Yz, I explored the medieval castle in the fortress of blood souls, and I found peace in the sunset on Rusty Cliff.
I have to admit that before I started playing sandbox, I was used to high definition games with realistic visual effects like the Final Fantasy franchise from Square Enix. I never thought I’d get used to the voxeled characters – basically a pile of moving boxes. But I did and I loved it.
The more I immersed myself in the Metaverse environment – the graphics, the characters, all of the objects, the architecture, the sound effects of the howling wind and the chirping of birds, the background soundtrack that calms you down or scares you – it all came together and enriched my gaming experience. I stopped staring critically at my voxicated body. Everything fits in naturally and it was just extraordinary.
If this is the showhouse that the official Sandbox team brings us, I very much hope for future releases and can’t wait to see the other brilliant ideas from creators around the world.
After completing all 16 alpha quests released before December 17th, I moved on to the additional experience called “Christmas Eve Miracles.” I didn’t have too high expectations for this experience and assumed it would be just another Christmas Jingle Bell cliché, but it turned out to be what surprised and baffled me the most in the end.
The experience began on a narrow path surrounded by tall pine trees. I was walking down the path and suddenly, at the end of the bend, a happy and busy city full of Christmas decorations unfolded in front of me. Fireworks, colored lights, Christmas markets, street performances, cozy cafes and souvenir shops filled the panorama. Christmas trees and gift boxes, happy people, snowflakes that fall elegantly from the night sky, and the wonderful, soul-touching piano music with a grain of melancholy. Listen here.
