Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has received the green light from French regulators to operate a digital asset trading platform in the country.
- According to a blog post on Wednesday (May 4, 2022), Binance has been registered as a Digital Asset Service Provider (DASP) in France by the French stock exchange regulator Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF). In addition, the Post said the company had received approval from the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution (ACPR).
- The announcement also states that the exchange received the registration after meeting strict requirements from French regulators. As a registered DASP, Binance will offer crypto trading and custody services in France.
- Commenting on the latest development, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao said:
“We are grateful to AMF and ACPR who have shown a commitment to innovation that has allowed Binance to steer the entire application process. Since day one, Binance has always put its users first, and now the crypto community can have even more confidence in Binance France as a trusted DASP registered in France.”
