Crypto Exchange FTX Inks International Rights Deal with the Golden State Warriors of the NBA

One of the world’s leading crypto marketplaces continues its drive to enter the industry mainstream by partnering with one of the top professional basketball franchises.
In a new announcement, the San Francisco-based Golden State Warriors announce that they have partnered with FTX US as the team’s official cryptocurrency platform and distributor of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) have teamed up.

This is also the first time the Warriors have signed with an international rights partner. Commenting on the deal, Team President and Chief Operating Officer Brandon Schneider said:

Cryptocurrency has an established global community and will continue to be an important part of the sports, media and entertainment industries.

In our conversations with FTX, we quickly recognized our shared desire to innovate around the integration and adoption of cryptocurrencies, including the role that NFTs play in global fan engagement. “

Earlier this year, the six-time NBA champion became the first team in the sport to release an NFT collection.

FTX US President Brett Harrison says it is important for fans to be able to buy collectibles on a trusted platform.

“The FTX US NFT platform will provide the international Warriors fan base with a leading, secure place to access exclusive collectibles from the franchise.”

The agreement follows the introduction of FTX Ethereum-based NFT marketplace in early December.

It was announced back in October that FTX had bought commercial airtime during the upcoming NFL Super Bowl, which will be played on February 13, 2022.

Speaking about FTX’s desire to bring crypto to the masses, CEO Sam Bankman-Fried said:

“Our message this year was that crypto is secure, accessible and ready for the mainstream.

There is no bigger mainstream event to get such a message across than the Super Bowl.

At the time of writing, the FTX Token (FTT) is up 2% to $ 39.41.
