Dogecoin jumps 10% as Gokhshtein claims Buterin and Musk are collaborating for DOGE

Crypto influencer David Gokhshtein has told his nearly 700,000 followers on Twitter that he expects it Ethereum Co-founders Vitalik Buterin and Elon Musk join forces to Dogecoin to improve.

Of the DogecoinThe price, which may have been triggered by Gokhshtein’s speculation, saw a massive surge of more than 12% in the aftermath. The price skyrocketed from $0.0823 to as high as $0.0913 on Binance. However, at the time of going to press, DOGE was already experiencing a slight one correction of the swing and traded at $0.0882.

“I have a feeling we’ll all see Vitalik and Elon working together to somehow improve DOGE,” Gokhshtein tweeted, adding, “They won’t Bitcoin work – well because Vitalik has tried that in the past and got kicked and Elon is interested in turning what started as a joke into something serious.”

However, it’s important to note that neither Musk nor Buterin commented on the Gokhshtein tweet.

The crypto influencer is making pure speculation, presumably based on previous statements by both people. Musk is known to be one of the biggest, if not the biggest, supporters of Dogecoin (DOGE). His tweets have caused massive swings in the DOGE price in the past.

Last but not least, there are rumors and hints — which Musk never fully dispelled — that Musk himself is the largest holder of Dogecoin (DOGE).

Deep dogecoin connections between Buterin and Musk

For his part, Vitalik Buterin has repeatedly spoken about a DOGE upgrade from proof of work to Proof of Stake voiced.

According to Buterin, Dogecoin has been considering a move to proof-of-stake for some time. Buterin shared this sentiment at Mainnet 2022, a crypto conference held September 21-23 in New York.

The Dogecoin Foundation already announced its relaunch in August 2021. First established in 2014, the foundation has since had the support of the Ethereum thought leaders.

Buterin joined the board of the newly formed Dogecoin Foundation as one of its four-person advisory team. A representative from Elon Musk is also on board.

This isn’t exactly surprising given the Tesla CEO’s past activities regarding Dogecoin. Last but not least, Musk had called for a drastic reduction in transaction fees in the Dogecoin network.

In addition, Buterin has donated large amounts of DOGE to the Dogecoin Foundation several times in the past, most recently in November 2021. A year ago, he donated 20 million DOGE.

So while Gokhshtein’s statement is pure speculation, there are actually some connections between the two personalities that make a joint effort not impossible.
