Ozzy Osbourne enters the NFT room with ‘Cryptobatz’

With the NFT debut, the former Black Sabbath singer joins a long list of supporters, including American heavy metal bands – Megadeth and Avenged Sevenfold.

Ozzy enters the NFT room

Osbourne’s rendezvous with bats isn’t new. His latest NFT collection is a nod to his infamous bat incident dating back to his live performance in Iowa on January 20, 1982. Following the incident, Osbourne claimed that he thought the bat was a toy that was thrown by a bystander. But the “batz” in his NFT collection is unique.

Osbourne announced that he had been trying to “get it at the NFT auction” for some time. It was only after many failed attempts to buy that he decided to create one. He was quoted as saying:

“I’ve been trying to get into the NFT promotion for a while and when I asked Sharon for a Bored Ape for Christmas after several failed attempts to buy my own and she said no, I decided to create one of my own.

CryptoBatz is one hell of a mental project for NFT collectors and fans. The design pays homage to one of my most iconic moments on stage and offers a chance to acquire a rare piece of art history. I love it!”

According to reports, the ‘CryptoBatz’ range will include 9,666 unique NFT bats and will be released in January 2022. In the meantime the pre-sale is on NFT-Collection opened on the CryptoBatz Discord channel. Interested users can mint up to three non-fungible tokens per digital wallet after the public minting went live next February.

It’s all about Batz

The music legend’s NFT collection is anything but mundane. CryptoBat comes with a twist that provides a solid portrayal of the nearly four-decade-old incident that engraved itself on the minds of metal fans around the world.

Each CryptoBat will be able to “bite” a different NFT in a user’s digital wallet. It doesn’t stop there. The owners can also mutate Cryptobatz with other collections and create new NFTs called “MutantBatz”.

These ‘MutantBatz’ allow users to integrate with NFTs from prominent players in the industry such as Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), SupDucks, Cryptotoadz and others.

As part of the NFT release, Osbourne will also be launching a treasure hunt called “AncientBatz,” which will allow the holders of CryptoBatz to hunt for tokens around the world. Once discovered, AncientBat’s non-fungible tokens have the ability to bite other tokens up to 100 times and breed 100 MutantBatz.
