Sam Bankman-Fried does not have a history of fraud or any other criminal activity
FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried pleaded not guilty to fraud and other criminal charges on Tuesday, marking his second appearance in a US court following the collapse of his cryptocurrency exchange.
Bankman-Fried, 30, pleaded not guilty to all eight counts before US District Judge Lewis Kaplan in federal court in Manhattan. Prosecutors have accused him of stealing billions of dollars in customer funds from FTX and defrauding investors and lenders at his trading firm Alameda Research. He also circumvented campaign finance limits and reporting requirements when he made millions of dollars in illegal political donations funded by Alameda, prosecutors said.
