Charles Hoskinson, Gründer von IOHK – der Stiftung hinter Cardano – hat einige der Ziele des Projekts im Jahr 2022 über eine Live-Weihnachtsübertragung auf Youtube mitgeteilt.
Hoskinson reflected the growth of Cardano and the overall crypto industry. He mentioned the non-fungible token revolution (NFT), the boom in decentralized finance (DeFi) and how hackers target DeFi projects, resulting in over $ 10.5 billion in losses in 2021 alone.
In terms of Cardano’s accomplishments that year, Hoskinson noted that over “two million assets” were spent on Cardano, most of them NFTs. He added that there are currently more than 127 projects writing code to build decentralized applications (dApps) on the network, with around 20 to 30 in the pipeline to be launched within the next three months.

Cardano’s goals for 2022
According to Charles Hoskinson, some of Cardano’s key plans for the coming year include building institutions to support the project and establishing a formal open source project structure.
“A formal open source project structure will be formed next year, similar to Hyperledger for Linux. We will see how many institutions are networked and all the people who are currently working on it will be overhauled, including me, ”he explained.
Strengthening the African Nations
Africa has always been part of Cardano’s strategy and next year the project aims to expand its presence on the continent.
With many countries in Africa still lacking financial inclusion, Hoskinson announced that the Cardano Foundation plans to “build a financial operating system” in the second quarter of 2022 that will give Africans access to DeFi services.
“My goal for the second half of 2022 is to figure out how to put all the pieces together to get an end-to-end microfinance transaction on Cardano.
So that a real person in Kenya or anywhere with one Blockchain-based identity and creditworthiness on the other hand Stablecoin is, Cardano is the accounting line. Peer-to-peer, person-to-person, click a button, credit goes to them. You pay it back (and it goes to the other side, ”he said.
The Cardano Foundation is taking steps to revolutionize the world and bring balance and equality with an emphasis on Africa.
Signed earlier this year Cardano signed a partnership agreement with Tanzania to give residents access to social, digital identity and financial self-determination. In August, IOHK teamed up with the European Business University of Luxembourg to provide more educational opportunities for students in African countries.
To reiterate Cardano’s long-term goal, the project’s founder noted that all the necessary equipment and tools that he lacked at the time are now available to achieve those goals.
